A Drop In Trunk Show!

A Drop In Trunk Show!
A Drop In Trunk Show!
Amazing things happen in the most unusual ways!
I met Debbie (on the left) several years ago when she was still living in New Jersey.  She came down to Bedford, Pennsylvania when I was teaching my summer workshop series with Mary Koval.
Little did I know that she would pull up stakes and fund herself living in Garden Valley, Idaho – right where my mom lives!
I received a text message the night that I arrived letting me know that their guild meeting was happening the next morning at 10am.
We were a bit short on time – we were running back down to the airport in Boise to pick up my mom’s sisters, but there was enough time to stop by and say hi,
What I didn’t expect was that Debbie would bring all of the mysteries she’s made with us – at least those that she hadn’t gifted away yet – and I got to witness HER Show & Share!
She made her Old Town in Robyn Pandolph prints in a smaller perfect-for-the-couch size.

My own On Ringo Lake is living with my Aunt & Uncle who DO live ON Ringo Lake in Minnesota (Near Spicer.)
Funny story – this was told by my Aunt Joy as we sat around the dinner table.  After we did the On Ringo Lake mystery, My unclue noticed that all o these women were holding up quilts along the lake shore getting pictures and he had no clue what that was all about.  LOL!
“It’s just so strange – they are all out there taking pictures in front of the lake????”
Welcome to the world of quilters, Uncle Steve!

I really love seeing how things look when folks change up their colors and settings.

This is Wanderlust from the Addicted to Scraps book.  Her border fabric is just WOW! She also added sashing that made the quilt a bit bigger.

Allietare replacing where I had red with purple.
Even replacing one color can change the whole thing!

Grassy Creek replacing the grey string units with a striped fabric.
Whatever works!  I love this soft color palette.

Debbie had used a fabric line for this quilt, but had no idea what to do with the cheater panel, so in the back it went!  So fun!

We weren’t able to stay and enjoy the day any later as we had to get to the airport, but I loved our little impromptu get together!  Thanks, for the invite, Debbie!

I love how quilters are everywhere – no matter where we go.

It makes the world such a friendlier place, doesn’t it?

God Morning, Tula!
Folks were asking how the furry menagerie survived my being gone – all is well! I knew it would be.  Hubster Dave is just as attentive to them as I am.  It’s so good to be back home with them!

This was also a happy surprise!
Folks always ask “When does the rhododendron bloom?” And my reply is always “Around Mother’s Day.”
Mother’s Day is Sunday and this is what I drove up to yesterday morning.  Tada!

Chock full of blooms!

Isn’t this the most magnificent color?

While I was gone –

Since I was gone and retreats weren’t happening last week, son Jeff worked his magic and gave the kitchen a fresh painting.

The cabinets are pine and though we painted before opening (7 years ago!?) the knots had started to bleed through leaving brown spots.

He primed the entire kitchen and then painted…I think we won’t be seeing any knots for a while.

Everything looks (and smells!) so clean and fresh!

The Muddy Creek Misfits arrived yesterday. It feels good to be heading into a quilty weekend.

I haven’t sewn at my machine for 10 days…with the aunties on hand at mom’s I didn’t even take my hexies out.  I didn’t stitch on the planes either as I was just worn out.

It’s time to get back into things.  Maybe today.

It’s Mother’s Day week!
(Or what’s left of it…)
After spending time with my mom and my aunts and getting to see my son in the process, I’ve placed all Digital patterns in the Quiltville Store 25% off with no coupon needed.
We won’t have another “all patterns” sale until Thanksgiving, so now is your chance to grab all the things!
