Quilters All Around!
The Lincoln Quilt Guild ladies are settled in and quilting up a storm!
And I have to say they have been more than understanding regarding the water leak and the subsequent dishwasher re-installation issue.
It’s always my want to provide the best retreat scenario that any group could want, and to have to turn water off while installation was going on, and then to have to run for more parts, putting a delay on water coming back on. They were troopers!
Here’s the boss unpacking the new dishwasher on the back porch.
I didn’t take any photos of him crawling around under the sink to get everything hooked up, but let’s just say it was a lot easier on our 30s and 40s than it was yesterday. Nothing like having to install a new dishwasher to remind you that you are turning 66 in 2 weeks!
We’ve left the kick plate off for now to ensure there is no leaking beneath, and there is a piece of molding that goes in the gap at the top of the dishwasher against the countertop, but for all intents and purposes, the Lincoln Quilt Guild ladies got the privilege of being the first to use this one.w
Long may she last and serve those who stay here well!
Loads of quilting is going on in this corner!
What’s to become of the kaleidoscope blocks?
We’ll have to wait and see!
Block of the month from Laundry Basket Quilts.
Guild sampler blocks are being set together this weekend!
I spotted this Quilt of Valor block on a machine –
With ore being pressed over here!
A fun charm pack top!
Something great is happening here, but I don’t know what yet because a carload of ladies left for the quilt shop. LOL!
Something super scrappy in lovely fabrics!
We also had some quick finishes!
Done in a hurry, perfect for gifting.
Simple scrappy rectangles bordered with stash!
A beautiful GE Designs finish!
These gals are so fast, no wonder they had to drive to the quilt shop for more fabric!
I’m thrilled to have them here – Fun Weekend Ahead!
And I have a small Tada.
I finished the binding on one of my cushion covers.
I used bonus leftover four-patches as the border around a red white & blue pinwheel block. The binding was the leftovers from binding the String Rings quilt. Red is red, and this worked.
The pillow form was made for one of the applique tulip covers that I am replacing, so all I had to do was pop it into the new cover.
Fits just right!
I used some Union Jack fabric I had picked up in England a few years ago – commemorative of that wonderful trip, but I had no idea where I would come to use it. This is perfect!
I’ll keep working on these bindings in the evenings and eventually all of the shredding tulip covers will be replaced and beds will still have bright spots of color to welcome guests.
A Craftours trip to Iceland in 2025 inspired the colors and design of this quilt. Originally presented as a Quiltville Winter Mystery, this pattern booklet includes all of the tips, helps and techniques covered in the mystery. Full color photos and graphics. Optional paper piecing templates for some units included.
