They Came, They Stayed, They Quilted!
Hi guys! I’m home!
I got home last evening and the first thig on the agenda was to visit Quiltville Inn and check in on the December Quiltvillians who arrived last Wednesday – last evening was their LAST evening. They all head home today, so I was eager to see them before they took off this morning.
Little did I know that while I was gone that a huge cold snap and wind storm would blow through Southwestern Virginia including a power outage moment –
But thanks to the Generac, the quilters kept quilting, they had full power at the house, and never skipped a beat.
Just look at this beautiful array of quilts!
Would you believe that i experienced much FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) while I was in England, just knowing that these gals were here and having a great time without me?
It came in waves…believe me, I was having a great time in England, too!
I’m so grateful for Hubster Dave who stepped in to save the day on many occasions and for the impromptu photographers who stepped in to take care of documenting this retreat so everyone has their photo memories in hand.
And this is the back side!
There was much ooing and ahhing during an impromptu show and tell in the dining room of the inn last evening….Everyone had amazing finishes!
That’s Rivanna worked up in a rainbow of solids at the far left, followed by Indigo Way and sorry to say that since I wasn’t here all week with everyone, I don’t know the ones that I don’t know.
I do know a beautiful trip around the world when I see one –
And the one on the right – is it from the 3 yard quilts books?
Cute patriotic quilt on the left, Frolic on the right!
And as always, Tula has kept everyone entertained!
Morning stretches at the kitchen door –
FEED ME! FEED ME!
And who else is caught hanging around?
I hadn’t seen him in a while, but evidently, he’s hanging around more.
And yes, that’s him….on the ROOF of the dilapidated old General Store next to the QPO. Any sunny spot will do, out of the wind.
I took this last night as we were leaving…there he is.
And Tula – she just fluffs up her tail and pays him no mind.
And for my Welcome Home party?
I was so tired it took me a while to notice what was on the shirts.
What in the world??
This shenanigan is all up to Tracey and her four cohorts in quilt-crime who ordered shirts off of Amazon where you can impose any image on a shirt – Why they chose my face I will never know, but I have never laughed so hard in my life.
Thanks for holding down the fort, ladies!
And with that, we officially wrap up our 5th Quiltville Inn season. Our next retreat is in February 2025.
How does time fly so quickly by?
Today I’m hitting the ground CRAWLING. My body clock needs some readjusting and that will take a few days. I was up and wide awake at 4:20 this morning. There will be a nap in between laundry loads.
There is catching up on outgoing mail order to do, and I will start in on that today (inbetween loads) but it may take a couple of days to get it all done.
I need to jump back in and get Part 4 of Old Town ready for Friday.
One step at a time, one thing at a time…just keep moving forward.
And that’s where I am today.
Quiltville Quote of the Day –
Sewing time may be put off for a while yet, but I’ll get there!
Have a terrific Tuesday, everyone.
It’s good to be home!
