The Stitch Mob Quilt Parade!

The Stitch Mob Quilt Parade!
The Stitch Mob Quilt Parade!
If cloudy skies make for great color in photos – then we ordered this weather right on schedule!
In between the downpours that completely cancelled out our firepit plans (That’s okay – the quilters were happy to stay inside and just keep on quilting on…) we were able to grab some quick but inspirational photos of the quilts both brought from home, and  tops pieced while here on retreat –
You guys know the drill by now….show your stuff!  Let your hard work be seen!

This was such an amazing, encouraging retreat in so many ways.
A gorgeous Unity quilt is the first top shared in this photo. Followed by not just one but TWO baby quilts for first time ever quilter and retreater Karen K.
We hooked her good, y’all! A text message received on their journey home announced that Karen had succumbed and purchased a new Janome and two panels at a quilt shop stop in Tennessee.

Cheers all around!
Next up is Jessica’s gorgeous Roll Roll Cotton Boll top center from String Fling and Karen B’s Completed Easy Breezy Leader & Ender top.  Pattern from the Free Patterns tab.

And the creativity continues!

Jared Takes a Wife (Free Patterns tab) got a good start – one row hanging here.  It is followed by the wonderful Kantha quilt I highlighted HERE.
The Pixelated Flower design is a pattern by Tilda – unsure of the name. If you know, please leave it in the comments below.  Thanks!

Chiquita’s glorious string quilt top!
Thanks so much for coming and filling the walls and halls with  your wonderful, joyful spirits, ladies!

And one more photo before sending everyone off on their ways home. See you next August!
Yesterday was just a slow-down kind of day.  I took a look at my studio, realizing how much it needed a deep clean – as in – pull out all of the tubs and vacuum behind everything – all of the lint from machine quilting, all of the threads and bits from machine piecing….EVERYTHING needed to be wiped down and set right.
I want to come home from Poland and Italy to a clean studio.  I’m making that happen.
Of course, there was a bit of a side trip –
The Stitch Mob Quilt Parade!

It was also Chiropractor day which meant a bit of time to wander the thrift shops if I went an hour early.

I found an entire set of Corelle 8 dinner places, 8 salad plates, and 8 dessert sized bowls for 2.99.  For the whole set. 24 pieces for 2.99.
These have kind of a fluted edge…..the Corelle we use daily is just plain white, not fancy, no design. so these will blend in fine.
Over the past few years I’ve shattered one plate and a bowl.  Granite counters (shown in photo!) and slippery hands will do that to Corelle.
I think I’m good for a while now!
Today?  Today is for making beds and getting ready for the September Quiltvillians’ arrival this afternoon.
I’m here for the start of their retreat and I’m glad to see everyone before I head to the airport Friday morning.

Quiltville Quote of the Day –
Most of the things that upset our apple carts are temporary.
Things resolve over time.
We move on.
Sometimes the only way out is through.
You’ve got this!
Have a wonderful Wednesday, everyone!
