Some of This….and Hummingbirds!

Did you ever have one of those fractured days where you didn’t accomplish much of anything?
Of course, you have – we all have.
But more happening here….it meant getting yesterday’s blog out and doing all of the answering of emails and getting mail order out, feeding Flash and Tula at the inn, and then getting the towel baskets ready for the arrival of Nola’s Bonniacs today and some other last minute things to get the inn ready –
That was almost done by 11:30am when I had to head to Jefferson to meet Dave at the bank – he was returning from getting his case removed from his right wrist (Now in a brace, yay!) in an effort to finally get our bank accounts moved to a local bank.
We’d been with Bank of America for nearly 40 years. Personal accounts, business accounts, mortgages and all.
The nearest B of A branch to us is close to 2 hours away. And while we can do most of our banking online there are times when we need to go to a branch or ATM for this or that.
It was just time to be LOCAL. And moving/closing accounts is a headache. I think they count on that so that you won’t do it. Automatic payments need to be moved, all of the things. It’s just UGH. And yesterday was our third trip to finally get things – well – finalized.
Pink dogwood in the parking lot at the bank –
Needless to say, this cut into a huge chunk of my day and by the time I got back it was after 3pm with only 2 hours to spare before heading home to fix dinner.
This is where I have been heading for quite some time.
Worked in autumn colors of dark chocolate, caramel, rusty oranges accented by a splash of sky blue and toasty cream.
This also happened!
Monday evening I picked up a couple of new hummingbird feeders thinking it was about time to put them out.
Yesterday morning I made the syrup, filled the feeders and hung them out, even though it was not a very warmish day and we had rain projected all day.
Look who is visiting already!
Hummers are my favorite – they don’t ask alot of us. They don’t spread bird feed everywhere, and they don’t poop on my porch.
I love their little humming hellos as they swoop on by, get a quick drink and fly off into the trees.
I have been anticipating enjoying them through the summer. It’s here. Yay!
I’ve got my work cut out for me today – and I’m headed over. Son Jeff is painting the garage today and he just called to say he is already there and setting into work.
What’s up for your day?
