And what better way to kick of the last night of retreat with the May Quiltvillians than to load up the fire forks with some marshmallows and make it a s’mores night!
However – check out Nola and her double-flamer. LOL!
We have a rule – if your marshmallows combust into flames, NO FLINGING ALLOWED!
It’s blow, baby, blow!
And of course there are differing opinions on what the actual color of a “dome” marshmallow should really be.
I’m still laughing at Nola’s blackened charcoal-on-a-fork ones.
Oh what a lovely evening!
Tula is there on the porch step – you can barely see her. She and Mabel had a stare off – Mabel was as close as her tether would let her get – just laying there watching Tula.
Tula inched closer and closer, ninja style – checking out Mable, just out of reach.
And she did the darndest thing – Tula was on the walkway, cozy as could be, front feet comfortably tucked beneath her. It was fun to watch.
The theme song playing in my head/ “Getting to know you…getting to know all about you….”
No barking, whining or freaking out on either’s part. All is good.
QPO visitors!
And Lola gets into the action as well in Nola’s arms. Thanks for a fun retreat everyone – it was great having you here!
The cross-seaming of my webbed top happened!
Here it is – Jacob’s Chain!
I even got an over-the-porch rail quilt top photo op!
Backing is pieced!
These blues were in the “not this one” pile left from backing my recent string star finish.
Did I mention that there is more BLUE in my stash than any other color? Unless you count the neutrals that is.
I’m happy with what this backing put to good use – and I think it fits the feel of the quilt. Just fun! (And good riddance to about 7 yards.)
The May Quiltvillians are checking out this morning – so it’s a big laundry day for me as we get the inn ready for the Quilters of the Night arriving tomorrow afternoon.
I think I might have an opportunity to at least get this loaded into the long arm today – and perhaps even get the quilting started. That’s what I’m shooting for anyway!
