Porch Season!

There are two new additions to our front porch at home –
And as temps have been fairly warm, I spent time out here last evening just gliding and looking over long mountain views before tree leaves curtain us in.
There is something magical about early spring as trees start to get their leaves, and birds have taken up their song.
We are not sure on the final placement of the double gliders yet (And yes they come with flip down cup holders!) But it only makes sense to face them out toward the yard instead of facing the house.
Super sturdy – they are made of trex, not wood so there will be no splinters and no need to repaint/restain.
Only one drawback so far – when I went out this morning they were covered in dew and promptly felt it through the seat of my pants as I sat down with my morning coffee.
Zoey and I quickly moved back to our hickory rockers under the cover of the front porch.
Note to self: Keep a towel handy if you are going out to the porch to sit in the morning!
There was a hive of activity happening the Quilting Quarters all through the day yesterday –
Any guesses what this is?
Some lovely Dawn’s Early Light blocks from String Frenzy are up on one design wall!
The beginnings of Starstruck –
Pattern found in this book.
Yesterday was also a quilt shop run opportunity for several ladies – but the afternoon still gave plenty of time for tea on the porch.
It’s so nice to be able to enjoy the outdoors again!
Up next for evening stitching time –
I’m without a top for hand quilting in my hoop = and until that situation is remedied I’ve pulled out my hexie project for feet up tv watching.
Last night I started to join the sections that would make the next row to add to the mothership.
Lola, however, is a bit perturbed that this row is not large enough for her to crawl under. She is used to being under the quilt, under the hoop in my lap for snuggles.
Sorry, Lola! It’s going to take a while for this to get big enough!
Meanwhile on the “design floor” –
What are you doing, Mabel!?
Log cabin border update –
Only 9 more to go!! Whoowhooo!
