Before I give a quilty update – I have a conession of utmost stupidity to make.
I took this photo this morning.  Hubster Dave and Son Jeff headed down the driveway on the tractor.
Because why?
Because last evening I drove home in the rain, was headed up the driveway as usual – electric farm gate doing its thing to let me pass…and I saw Hubster’s headlights coming down.
There is no way for two cars to pass…so as I was closest to the road, I thought I would just back out and let him pass, and then I could go up…easy peasy right?
Though I was watching what I could through my rainy muddy back up camera – I couldn’t see that my rear tire on the driver’s side was headed for a soft hole made softer by the rain.
I got stuck in the hole!  Spin, spin, stop.
I felt so stupid!  Why do we beat ourselves up this way?  It could have happened to anyone, especially in the rain.  Hubster Dave took me up top and we left the van at the bottom of the drive, one tire in a hole, until this morning.
This morning Jeff & Casden arrived early, and the two men folk took the tractor down to use the winch to get the van out of the hole and back up to the top.

Jeff driving the freed van back up to the top!  Hooray!
It just took two men, a tractor, a pull strap and better weather than trying to do it in the rain to get it done.
Needless to say, breakfast is being cooked upstairs by said men while I type up this post.
Gettin stuck was a stupid game. Having these men in my life is an amazing prize.

Yesterday the retreat was half empty as a couple of different groups of ladies went on their way to fabric shop hop  – some going this way, others going that depending upon what they were in search of.
The Virginia quilt shop hop is going on and they were bound and determined to visit what they could!
That meant there wasn’t a lot of design wall change up going on through the day.
But I love these Star Quarters happening here!

Tiny block kits from Alison Glass & Guicy Guise!
I love minis!  My only problem is that they don’t sew up enough fabric fast enough and I’m drowning in scraps – so I just keep sewing them up. LOL!

You just gotta love quilty friend shirt coordination!
I can hardly wait to see what they are wearing today.  This took some planning!

Did it make a dent?  Doubtful.  But I’m sure having fun trying!

I am hoping (if I counted right) That these are the last half light/half dark string blocks needed to get my current blue strings project together.
Around 3:30pm several of us headed to the back porch at the inn, with plates of crackers and cheese ball and veggies in hand…..I depapered with a bit of help from my friends and these are waiting for me to stitch big blocks together today.

Last evening – all by mkyself, home alone – and pouting about my van being stuck at the bottom of the drive, rear tire in a hole for ALL to see.

There was emotional support chocolate.
And a couple of episodes of Harry Wild on Acorn to keep me company.
A couple more evenings on this motif and it, too can go into the done pile.
Today – mid-retreat laundry, and more sewing.
It’s the weekend.  I’m putting things in low gear and just plan to enjoy the next couple of days.
Got anything fun ahead for your weekend?
