Keep On Sewing On!

Keep On Sewing On!
Keep On Sewing On!
Welcome to the Weekend, everyone!
We are starting today with more pillow talk – because, why not?
I’m pretty pleased with how these are turning out.
Orphan blocks plus borders, plus a bit of machine quilting, accented with binding and voila!
It helps, of course, that the pillow forms were already made and I just needed  to pop them in there to have the job done.

I love this one!
Not only do I love it for what is on the front, but on the back as well. (And this is a block I want to play with again in the future so this will keep it in the forefront of my mind.)

These will always be Jamie’s Sloths, and will remind me of our trip to Peru!

This Sister’s Choice block was a class sample from a retreat workshop I taught last year. I had extra red and neutral four-patches in a baggie that became the border.
The Sister’s Choice block is found under the Free Patterns tab.  Such a fun star block with a simple nine-patch center! And yes, the nine-patch was made with recycled shirt fabrics.

I used a large floral on the back to tie in with the darker neutrals on the front.
There are still more bindings to happen through the weekend…and I’m okay with that.

What is happening at retreat?

The blocks on the design wall were growing in number by the time I headed home!

The afternoon sun felt so good on the back porch and some moments were enjoyed just soaking it in.  To feel the sun on my face and my shoulders for even just a few minutes in between doing all the things was wonderful.
I zoomed in to get this photo of Flash in a relaxed and contented position. I think he is enjoying the warmth of the sun on his fur too.

Miss Hazel found the sunny spot on the low brick wall overlooking the creek beyond. I love how the green of her eyes echoes the greening up of the grass in the background.
And yes, she still follows me to the Studio, jumps up into the big comfy chair on top of her fleecey blanket for a nap.

She has stolen my heart, and the position of official QPO Studio cat.
We’ve got a lovely day ahead of us – sunny and pushing 60 f degrees.  I’ll take it.
The Lincoln Quilt Guild ladies are checking out tomorrow morning so today is for all of the pictures and cramming in as much retreat fun as we can before they pack it all up and head home.
Time is flying to quickly, as it always does.
Do you have weekend plans ahead?

Quiltville Quote of the Day –
There are a lot of choice words happening these days!
And when things are definitely beyond my control I just repeat to myself “Just keep putting pieces through the machine, just keep putting pieces through the machine.”
Kind of like Dorie saying “Just keep swimming, just keep swimming…”
If you are feeling that way to, you are not alone.
I’ll see you on the other side of the weekend –
