Just A Little Walkabout –

Just A Little Walkabout -
Just A Little Walkabout -
It hit nearly 70 yesterday!
And you know what that meant – I headed out, away from my desk come mid-afternoon to go see what I could see at my closest favorite spot to walk.
I hadn’t been down here since fall, and I was eager to see just what was what –
Do you see what I see?  The daffies are blooming!
Just A Little Walkabout -
This is where I park my car – off the side of the road, and just start walking along Wilson Creek.  This is the same creek that flows behind the inn, but since the hurricane, things have really changed. We’ve lost so many trees.

Just A Little Walkabout -
Wilson Creek flows right into the New River at this point (That’s why we are called Mouth of Wilson!) and big blue waters opened up to big blue sky as I continued my way down and around…

And somehow I caught that sunbeam in my photo – I’ll take it!

I wondered if these trees rooted to rocks would still be standing – and they are!

Not too shabby for a first road hike in March!

Just A Little Walkabout -
Soon this grass will turn green and trees will have leaves.

It’s like saying hello to old friends I haven’t seen in a while!

Evening home sewing time.
One block –

Just A Little Walkabout -
Became three blocks –
The number of blocks needed keeps going down by twos and threes – but those sawtooth sashings? I’m still buried under the more than 70 that I need to get the job done.  It will get there.

I love sticking in silly fabrics!
Mr. Potatohead faces?  Yes please!
Just A Little Walkabout -
And a bit of Lola the Scrap Compactor in the bin next to me –
All in all a very good day and I’m so glad for some sunshine and a break in the winter weather.  I know we have a way to go before spring truly arrives, but we are getting closer.
Today the Richmond Express group arrives – some last minute things to do aver at the inn. I’m anxious for their arrival.
I think the weather will be nice enough to even spruce up the porch a bit, so that is on the agenda as well.
What’s up for your day?
