It Must Be Spring!

It Must Be Spring!
It Must Be Spring!

Daffies on the hillside!

They’ve been a bit slow to bloom – this heirloom variety that gives the appearance of “double blooms”
But I love them so much!
Of all of the flowers that bloom, I think it is the hope and promise of spring that bursts forth with the daffodils that makes them my favorite.
Or at least – I think this is all I need until I start playing with layouts.  Who knows…maybe I’ll need more to make it bigger?
All I can say is that this has not made a dent in the strings, crumbs and cut-off triangle stash at all.  AT ALL.  Not that I really thought it would, but sheesh.

It Must Be Spring!
THE VERY LAST BLOCK.

It Must Be Spring!
And I love them.
There has been no particular plan other than neutrals on the skinny side, and colors on the fatter side.
It’s a riotous mix of prints, solids, stripes,. plaids, genre – there were no rules other than if it is a color it goes on the wide side – if it is a neutral, it goes on the skinny side.

It Must Be Spring!
And now I get to start laying them out!
We’ll see how far I get – there are beds to be made, and pressing stations to recover with fresh freezer paper.
Finishing touches, a bit of a change of décor as St. Patrick’s Day stuff gets swapped out for Spring/Easter.
But I can’t wait to finally make a decision on how this quilt is going to come together.
It Must Be Spring!
In case you missed it – this happened and is on-going!
My Waterford PDF pattern is now available in the Quiltville Store with an automatic 25% introductory discount good through 3/31/25.
It was inspired by a tile floor I photographed on my last trip to Ireland, when we took our Craftours group to the Waterford Crystal showroom in Waterford.
Waterford measures 80” X 80”, but is easily made smaller or larger just by changing the number of blocks.
And yes, there is a Gift-Away!
It Must Be Spring!
I’ll be drawing for two winners who will each receive a Waterford PDF pattern from me and a Notable Neutrals fabric roll from our friends at  Cotton to Quilts
We’ll draw for those winners THIS SATURDAY 3/29/25. Whew!
It Must Be Spring!
My friend Bruce Leonard’s newest Hadley Carroll novel Quilt City: Safety Second is joining the line up of other fun quilty mystery titles, continuing the story of Hadley’s adventures in Paducah Kentucky.
I’ll be giving away 3 copies of Quilt City: Safety Second so head to that post and get your entry in.

I think that catches us up to now.

It Must Be Spring!

Quiltville Quote of the Day –

How boring life would be if it all went the way we planned it.

I am grateful for the plot twists and bumps in my road that have brought me to where I am now.

Well, SOME. Not ALL!

Side note: I can’t help but giggle at this block and wonder what happened to cause it!

Have a wonderful Wednesday, everyone!
