Seven on the Creeper Trail! My first foray of the season – and the best break in the weather that we could have asked for.
Two days previous we needed parkas, hats, gloves, with morning temps hovering around 28f.
Monday on the trail? 70! Leaves are appearing everywhere. Dogwoods and redbuds were blooming all along our route.
17 miles from White Top Station down to Damascus – and we did it!
The over the shoulder selfie! LOL!
It’s not easy keeping a group of 7 together – so if those in the lead felt they were too far ahead, we’d just stop to take a break and let the others catch up.
This was a leisure ride, with much stopping for photos – and I love seeing things through the eyes of others who are experiencing all of this for the first time.
Many hadn’t been on bikes in YEARS!
For those asking – bikes are rented in Damascus, and a shuttle takes us up to the top and lets us off to ride the 17 miles back down to the bike rental place.
And here they come!
Every year this little spot catches me.
But that SKY!!
We hadn’t seen blue sky in weeks either – Ahhhhh!
Another favorite “must photo” spot!
The caption on the sign with the “lodging” behind. LOL!
Old log barn in the woods.
This spot is lovely – see the old house behind?
And more out buildings above –
And my favorite waterfall area!
There just could not have been a better day to do this ride!
Well done, ladies!
Yes, we were masked inside the store. Masks are off for the few moments we are taking photos. Masks are off while exercising or spreading out outside.
We wear these wonderful T shirts in memory of our sweet friend Jen who ordered these shirts last year for us while battling brain cancer.
Jen passed away before being able to join us on this adventure, but she was with us – riding with each one of us in spirit. We love and miss you, Jen!
This was a day I will always remember. I’m sure the Texas group agrees. It was epic!
The printable PDF pattern for Catching Rainbows is now available at the introductory price of $9.00 in the digital patterns section of the Quiltville Store. That’s a 25% savings over the regular price of $12.00.
This price drop is good until May 1, 2021 (This coming Saturday!) when the price reverts back to full.
Today – A finish on the laundry, and anticipating a late afternoon arrival of The Scrappy Sisters from Tennessee!
How is your Wednesday shaping up so far?
We hit 80 yesterday. Crazy, right? This morning it was 56 on the porch for my morning coffee, and I just enjoyed it so much – listening to the birds – hearing the sound of babbling streams as they made their way down the mountain to the creek below.
I hope beautiful changes in nature are happening where you are too!
Vintage quilt found in Texas.
How boring life would be if we were all the same. If every day were the same, if every experience were the same.
Embrace the differences!
