Quilting Up Friendships!

I started into Vera on Britbox – that’s what’s keeping me company these days.
And more in this colorway –
Falling leaves & autumn grassy green.
And a whole lot of block making –
Again, the biggest challenge is finding a pressing way that will work with how the blocks rotate when they are joined together. There is not one plan that will always work depending upon the number of units in the block – odd, or even?
And maybe it’s my own stubbornness but I refuse to simply say “Press everything open all of the time and then you never have to worry about which way seams need to go.”
There is something so satisfying about a crisply nested seam that makes me happy. Weird. I know.
But we are about half-way now.
I feel like I’m trying to capture all of the autumn beauty that is before me in real time – before all of the leaves and color are on the ground.
And even if it doesn’t feel like it – these piles of older neglected fabrics ARE going down and I love what they are becoming.
Quiltville Quote of the Day –
I was talking with a friend on how to feel more productive. One of the biggest things is to not feel guilty over the creative stuff you own, or bad about what you don’t own.
Don’t compare your studio space to anyone else’s – whether you are stitching at the kitchen table, taking over the dining room, or using a small space in your basement, it doesn’t matter.
Create in the space that is yours.
Whether it is messy, or clean doesn’t matter. What matters is that you allow yourself the time to do what you love even if it is full of mistakes and false starts. No judging on yourself!
There should be no GUILT in QUILT!
Now get in there and do it!
