Taking Stitches, Everywhere!

This little back corner of the porch has become my favorite spot to sit and visit this summer!
And I think I’m not alone in that – it’s been a great space to congregate with a bit of hand work, a beverage, a snack, and just kick back and enjoy the late afternoon vibes.
If you take a close look by the plant in the bottom right-ish you’ll see a bucket containing the papers I’ve been de-papering from more string blocks.
Why de-paper in solitary when you can be surrounded by stitchy friends?
Cousins and life-long friends!
Over the past few years we’ve watched those Christmas trees grow on the hill in the background.
Beth is getting comfortable with her new CraftOptics glasses. We will do whatever we can to improve our vision and get the stitching done!
We have some wonderful applique blocks in the making –
This one has amazing reverse applique –
Completed block with some others in progress!
Someone is catting around over here!
It’s a whole herd!
The rickrack whiskers crack me up!
My favorite!
The pattern is from this Buggy Barn book.
Oh, this is going to be pretty!
Nine Patch & Star –
This is another Accuquilt die and the pieces fit together perfectly.
Patti is still working on her Plaited Block quilt – also an Accuquilt die.
deciding which border fabric to use when the time comes!
All of them. Use all of them!
This Accuquilt project is called Flowering Snowball.
Were I ever to dive into sewing curves, I think die cut would be the way to go. But that’s a big IF! LOL!
More tiny pineapple blocks –
And some very fun paper-pieced scrappy triangles!
Some wool applique by machine!
Isn’t this adorable?!
And it’s not just blocks – it’s also bag finishes!
I love how roomy The Boxy Tote is – great bag!
Lone Star in progress became:
Oh, how gorgeous!
Keep your focus on the progress, not the setbacks!
Antique hexagon quilt I photographed rom the 1718 Coverlet exhibit, Festival of Quilts Birmingham, UK. In 2018.
Welcome to Monday, everyone!
What will you do with it?
