Fill The Design Walls!

There has been a whirlwind of quilting activity happening through the weekend at Quiltville Inn!
Cutting tables, pressing tables – even layouts happening in the front foyer and dining room.
Every available space is covered by pieces, parts, blocks and tops.
The weather only became decent enough to get out for a walk yesterday (Sunday) afternoon…so the quilters have had plenty of machine time to put thread to fabric and make beautiful things happen!
There’s a whole lot of Frolic happening here!
I am loving seeing it come together in purples pinks and limey yellow-greens!
Silk Path in reds is coming together in this corner –
They are the centers of bigger star blocks to become:
Kim Diehl’s Spangled quilt!
And this sweet Unity quilt is nicknamed Pink Lemonade!
(Because when life hands you lemons…..)
Pink hearts with warm toasty neutrals.
Can you spot the one four-patch that by now is already fixed?
And all of that was BEFORE Sunday Brunch was served!
And it just so happened I was walking into the kitchen when that loud pop was heard and the champagne cork went flying. LOL!
Check out the fun neutrals! Love them!
And more giant flower blocks. Love it!
This one is called Zinnia Seeds. So prety!
I headed down the back stairs heading below the porch….catching this glimpse of Flash all “tucky feeted” and hanging out.
Later on in the afternoon he was found sunning himself on the low brick wall. I think he’s found his happy place, even if he is still a bit skittish –
Speaking of Bear Branch – a handful of us were able to break away yesterday afternoon for a road hike. It doesn’t take long, only about an hour to get 2 miles in. We needed it!
However, we did not need THIS!
Black snakes are good snakes. They take care of rodents, and they will take down copperheads. I just don’t like to be surprised by them.
We gave this guy a wide berth, and he was gone by the time we hit our turn-around point and headed back.
Cute grass puppies!!
They were all so curious –
I love seeing the young ones!
It was a fun, full weekend. Not sure I’m ready to hit the ground running yet.
This morning we have group photos planned, this afternoon we’ll do the over-the-porch-rail bit.
Things will start to wind down as today is the last day for the June Quiltvillians.
And then I head off to Iceland on Saturday! Have I begun to pack? NO!
I hope everyone had a good weekend, and got some stitching in. Or at least some planning and hoping.
Quiltville Quote of the Day –
Please! Don’t Clean Up My Mess –You’ll Confuse Me and Screw Up My World!!
From my memories 12 years ago!
Not much has changed, evidently.
Have a marvelous Monday, everyone!
