Some Of This Happened…
I found some sewing time!
It’s been an impossibility since Thanksgiving, and here we are nearly half-way through December already.
I was finally able to sit at my machine, put something binge-able on the telly and just put the pieces through.
The rhythm and hum of the machine joining squares to triangles, making blocks come together.
I highly recommend it!
Due to the difficulty of bus parking, we came up the back of the cathedral and up the side.
One of the things I love about London in December? The trees still have golden leaves. They haven’t all fallen yet.
Sent this photo to dad’s digital picture frame!
The golden foliage was so beautiful!
And yes…coming up the walk I was humming to myself “Feed the birds, tuppence a bag….”
The colors of golden leaves against the different greys of the cathedral had me thinking of the colors of Moonflower. We gathered with our group to listen to our London guide tell us a bit of the history of this iconic site.
Another vertical shot for dad’s frame.

And from the front, across the street.
A couple of folks in our group were lucky enough to score tickets to hear Handel’s Messiah being performed inside St. Paul’s on one of our “free” evenings in London. They took the tube over and said it was an amazing performance. Lucky ducks!
Click to view All My Tours and join me in my 2025 line up to discovering the crafts, culture and cuisine of Iceland in June, a celebration of quilting & textiles in France, Germany & Switzerland in September, and the treasures of a Bavarian/Austrian Christmas in December.
So what’s the weekend plan? I am headed over to Wytheville with a friend to check out the Holiday craft fare. Yes, the hubsters are coming. Which should prove interesting as I am bound and determined to make a quilt shop stop as well.
In consolation, I have mentioned that I am good if they also want to stop at Rural King. LOL!
The red/neutral quilt top will likely not begin to be sewn together until tomorrow. I have the batting I need and hopefully will see it assembled and machine basted so I can start the hand quilting within the next week.
What’s on your list for this weekend?
