Oodles & Bunches of Fun!

Oodles & Bunches of Fun!
Oodles & Bunches of Fun!
My arms are BARELY long enough to fit 13 people in for a selfie.
But this one had us laughing and having to HOLD IT as some crazy setting happened on the selfie side of my phone that had a countdown timer enabled that I couldn’t seem to turn off.
You should see the REJECT photos. LOL!!!
I finally got it sorted out – something got pushed inadvertently that turned that on – but “smile and hold it” is not the easiest thing while waiting for the 3, 2, 1 SNAP!
It’s all full of giggles and fun – and if we can’t laugh at ourselves and silly situations, then we are taking things far too seriously.

Fill the whole porch!

Boy, that September sunshine feels good!
Two different kinds of pineapples on the left – the second one in is Pineapple Blossom from the Free Patterns tab. I’m not sure on the names of the two on the right – but aren’t they pretty?

Good Fortune with extra borders looking great!  Do you know the name of the yellow one? Put it in the comments please!  Indigo Way is followed by string pieced spool blocks.  Lovely!

On the left is Maverick Stars made with recycled shirts!  Next is a Diamond Tile variation with blocks set on point made by Kathy.

Full out photo of the Maverick Stars – Love those shirts!

And what she wasn’t able to show over the porch rail – 40 adorable pillow cases for donation.  This woman is a powerhouse!  And I so admire all of the things she does for philanthropy.

I don’t know the patterns for either of these, but I’m feeling the need to string-piece-paper-piece SOMETHING soon! Beautiful quilts, ladies!

Oodles & Bunches of Fun!
We’ll see you next September!
These smiling faces say it all!
(And there may have been a bit of rum slush involved!)
Things are feeling a bit vacant right now!

Usually I would have another group checking in this afternoon, but we’ve blocked off a couple of weeks while I’m gone to Kenya, so Hubster Dave can take care of finishing the retaining wall between the yard and the parking area.
I love how he is turning the bricks at an angle at either end  to give the ends of the wall a gentler curve.
He hopes to finish up today while the weather is good and before the rain comes.
As for me?  I’ve been on a grind to get everything ready for Kenya.
I haven’t really begun to pack, but the guest room bed is piled with things that need to come with me and a load of laundry is running and I’m getting closer.
Batteries are charged up for my big camera with the zoom for far away safari shots and videos.  I’ve made sure that the wifi works between camera and phone so I can transfer photos over easily and get them up to google photos when I have wifi access.  External hard drive is also coming along with my laptop because I know my phone will run out of space. It’s all about moving things from one device to another and making more space.
We put a huge memory card in the camera, and I’m taking the old one as back up.
I shopped yesterday for my mobile pharmacy – Pepto, Imodium, cough/flu/cold/headache/bug spray – it’s all there.  Sunscreen.
Need to remember a  hat.
I’m going to Kenya and I can’t wait to meet up with my group on Saturday at JFK.
We’ve got 2 folks joining us from New Zealand that we’ll be meeting up with in Nairobi.  So excited.
Hexie project has been restocked and is ready for plane stitching, and so is the beginnings of my stitchery project for January’s Australia trip.
Have you signed up for Australia yet?  It’s not too late, and yes you can bring a spouse, friend, sibling, adult child – LET’S GO!

And now let me thank you for the great response to yesterday’s Diamond Tile release! The Quiltville Store has been humming, and I’ve also heard from people who started their blocks when the pattern came out in Quiltmaker, but never got around to setting them and now they have ideas.
GREAT!! This gets me so excited to see you excited to dive in again and turn those blocks into something marvelous.

I don’t have a lot up on deck today.  We’ll just have to see how things pan out as my to-do list whittles down.

I haven’t forgotten that today is 9/11.  Or where I was on that day.  Or all of the other things that unfolded due to that fateful day.

How about you? Anything happening for your mid-week Wednesday?

Oodles & Bunches of Fun!

Quiltville Quote of the Day –

Nope. Not hoarding. Not me. ⁣

I NEED all of this fabric.⁣

End of story!

Have a wonderful Wednesday, everyone!
